THIRTY-TWO: Happy New Year and more…

12Jan10

Happy New Year to you all! Almost two weeks into 2010. The endless days of mugging leave me with no energy left to think about what to write for my first post this year. Eating into my 15-minute break right now, after a full day of macroeconomic theory revision, can’t believe I’m doing more “writing”. Yoyo is off to the gym early today so I’ve got a little more time to think of what to write about in this space.

I did write up my list of resolutions a few days before 2010. However, it would be a bore to have it all written up right here. The year was just off with a hectic start. With exams and essays both due in this month and no time for rest, I would say that 2010 starts officially after exams. Wouldn’t be that wise an idea to rate my year so far when it’s the exam period, would it? So I thought…

I am having a rather enjoyable week though, having spent Saturday in Bath before jumping into macro on Sunday. Yoyo’s been a real darling to have made the time to come over with little snack and making me yummy home-made dinners. Bath was really a beautiful sight, being that its “ancient” buildings were covered with snow. The Royal Victoria Park set in front of the Royal Ave was absolutely stunning in white. It was freezing, playing in the snow, but I reckon all the frost-bites and frozen toes were worth that day of ice-y fun. *winks

Speaking of snow, it’s been snowing a real lot since the middle of december and now we are seeing even heavier snows each week. I guess its rather pretty to watch, but the after-snow is seriously not a pretty sight. Pavements with mushed-up “snow” that becomes really slippery “ice” after days so you can’t avoid slipping seriously makes walking such a chore. These days, just thought of leaving the house leaves me entirely exhausted. The roads to school are long and slippery which makes me just curl up at home in the warmth to study rather than get out of the house for some fresh air. Running out in the snow to get things from the mart and getting back all frozen is much worse than getting drenched in a tropical island rain! Oh well, that’s life, isn’t it?

But even if it’s freezing, I still love going places with Yoyo^.^
