Thirty-Four: Coffee & Exams

13Jan11

December was an absolutely busy month! It started off with Yony and I waved hello to a good two years together. I then had some of our friends over for a christmas party, which turned out that yony had planned a surprise birthday party for me and all of them were in cahoots ! I had the prettiest ice-cream cake ever, designed by yony himself(: Well after, my mom came over and was kept really busy having to take her around. Then came Christmas! Was over at Yony’s having christmas dinner, Luiz was invited too, and played loads of games together! Then it was post-christmas sales – which i accomplished online. Spent New year’s at Yony’s as well, this time Michael was invited and we had games all over again !

It’s been a busy year end and now, it’s the time again. Mid-terms always has been cooped up at home with coffee, snacks and piles of notes. This year looks the same so far, with the addition of textbooks to the pile. Life’s been exciting, of course, up until last week when the actual hard work began. It’s only been 2 weeks into the new year and I feel that I have already done loads!

Was out in Bristol last week visiting Alice and Tony in their new cozy little house after some really hectic shopping at Bicester Village. The drive was so soothing that yony and I fell asleep, having been up since 8 to get to Bristol. It was still a new year’s holiday week so everything, even Nando’s was closed for dinner, so we settled for our all time comfort KFC! Did i mention that the KFC Zinger Meal (tower up) is absolutely yummy ? It was, because we spent the whole day shopping on an empty stomach !

We celebrated Shirley’s birthday the day after we got back. Got her a little cake and a small gift from urban outfitters – which looks pretty on her! Went out for Dim Sum at Happy Gathering and was absolutely stuffed when we got back.

We left for Manchester the next day to catch Man Utd v Stoke City! We looked at it as an adventure because it was our anniversary gift from me (well, of course yony got his separately)! We bumped into a friend on our train  and he was actually going to watch the same match. We were full of excitement and even in the freezing cold we were screaming out lungs out along with man utd fans. Met up with Eunice the next day for some shopping (again!) and a meal and visited her place.

We tried out Ruby Tuesdays in St Davids 2 last Saturday. I have to say, the salad bar was very satisfying. I wasn’t, at all, disappointed. The main courses were absolutely delicious. The portions seem small, however they are very filling. We were gonna attempt some dessert, however, it was absolutely impossible after we finished every last bit of our food. Some advice? Go easy on the salad so that you’ll have some space for dessert later!
